Channel 5 to air MotoGP hightlights

It has been announced that Channel 5 will be airing a free MotoGP highlights on a Monday night throughout the 2017 season; the deal was struck only a matter of days before the Qatar round.

Channel 5 will take over from ITV4, who held the rights last year, airing a full highlights package on a Monday evening,

It will be a mind-blowing season – one for the books. Complementing our live coverage of Formula E and the World Rally Championship highlights, this further demonstrates our commitment to offer top class sport to our viewers” said Mark Sharman, from Channel 5.

Channel 5 have been building the presence in the motor sport world with Formula E and WRC, and now adding MotoGP to the collection.

Managing Director at Dorna Sports, Manel Arroyo, commented on the new partnership; “With so much emphasis on British talent this year, we are delighted that highlights of every MotoGP round this coming season will be available for British audiences on Channel 5.

“Our British riders in every category are in top form so it should be an exciting season for our British fans. We are looking forward to getting the 2017 FIM MotoGP World Championships underway in a couple of weeks time in Qatar.”
