South West

Home to some of the most scenic coasts in the country, the South West lends itself profusely to rides that you really won’t want to miss out on. A truly epic ride can be taken from Gloucestershire, down to Somerset, on to Devon and Finally Cornwall; passing famous destinations  along the way such as the Eden Project and Stonehenge. Being beside the coast means there’s loads to do in this region so make sure you set a good amount of time aside while touring the South West. Fancy a dip in the sea after a long days ride, we say it’s a must that you visit a local wet suit and surf board hire, after all the South West is famous for its epic surf scene.

Rideouts & Clubs

Biker groups are big in this area and that doesn’t come as much of a surprise, you only have to take a look at the coastal surroundings, winding, twisting and turning roads to truly appreciate what a bikers paradise the South West really is. If you’re thinking of joining a bikers club within this region then you really are spoilt for choice. Why not take a look at Plymouth Motorcylce Club, they are one of the largest motorcycle clubs in the South West, they organise local and national charity events every year and enjoy attending various motorcycle shows and rallies. Another well-known group within this area are South West Riders, a family friendly club who also have their own café and regularly meet here for a nice fry up to get them ready for their many ride outs.

Routes

The South West really does spoil you with picturesque views and what better way to enjoy these views than riding along the coast or through winding, twisting country lanes, this part of the UK really has it all. Why not arrange a ride from Bodmin to Land’s End along the B3306; this epic ride takes you along the country roads of Cornwall, we suggest you take a few detours so you can really make the most of the fantastic coastal views.

If you’re visiting the South West then getting involved in a ride out or two is a must, this part of the country offers spectacular views with roads that were practically made for riding! A great little B&B called The First and Last Inn, located near Land’s End host regular ride outs and to finish off at this place is perfect because you can spend a few nights here too.

You certainly won’t be stuck for places to stop off and rest during your rides along the South West. We've compiled a list of biker friendly cafés, pit stops and diners in the South West for you to relax at. Biker friendly, The First and Last Inn is definitely worth a visit, located in Sennen, one mile from Land’s End, this place is one of the most famous Inns in Cornwall. We’d say it’s worth taking a rest here, not only because of its picturesque surroundings but Land’s End is definitely worth a visit too! Or perhaps you'll find yourself further north in Plymouth, in which case we recommend you stop off at GT Motorcycles Legends Café, this place is attached to a Motorcycle Dealers so if you’re having trouble with your bike, need spare parts or a quick fix what better place to stop off while enjoying a cuppa and bacon sarnie.
